Applications Being Accepted for Pershing Square Sohn Prize for Young Investigators in Cancer Research

The Pershing Square Sohn Cancer Research Alliance (PSSCRA) is now open for applications for its 2020 Pershing Square Sohn Prize for Young Investigators in Cancer Research. At least six greater New York City-area-based* scientists will each be awarded $200,000/year—for up to three years—to empower them to pursue groundbreaking research at a stage when traditional funding is lacking.

Applicants must have:

  • Between two and eight years of experience running their own laboratories by the start date of the Prize (July 2020);
  • A PhD, MD or MD-PhD (or equivalent);
  • Faculty appointments at academic research institutions in the greater New York City area at the level of Assistant or Associate Professor (or equivalent). *The greater New York City area includes: New York City’s five boroughs, Long Island, Westchester County, New Jersey, and Western Connecticut (Fairfield and New Haven Counties).

The deadline to submit the Letter of Intent is Monday, November 4, 2019 at 5:00pm ET.

Now providing funding and support for 39 investigators, the highly competitive prize underwrites the bold research of cancer scientists at a formative stage in their careers. In order to facilitate collaboration and innovation, in addition to their funding Pershing Square Sohn Prize winners are given access to a unique network of leaders in academia, business and venture capital, biotech and pharma industries, and philanthropy, and are invited to participate in select programs.
