Advisory Committees

The Director of Graduate Studies (DGS) and other members of the Microbiology Program faculty advise students on course work and other matters arising in the first and second years. During the second year, students choose a thesis project and assemble a thesis advisory committee, which will advise and guide students and monitor their progress throughout their dissertation research. Members of the thesis advisory committee are chosen by the students in consultation with their thesis advisors. Students are expected to meet with their thesis advisory committee at least once a year, or as necessary.
