  • 00:00So tell us a little bit about
  • 00:07what your life is like now.
  • 00:11My life now is a change with Co bid.
  • 00:15You know we I'm talking to you from my home.
  • 00:19You know my kids are in the background
  • 00:22and my dog is by my feet and we uhm.
  • 00:26You know are relying on technology
  • 00:28to help keep us connected.
  • 00:31So this ability to you know,
  • 00:34do zoom calls or you know video chats with
  • 00:39our colleagues and our patience is really.
  • 00:44I think it's pretty cool actually.
  • 00:46I'm really into how technology
  • 00:48impacts health care and.
  • 00:50You know, I I now don't mind.
  • 00:52If you know like you know like like
  • 00:54kids are in the background or something,
  • 00:57you know it.
  • 00:58It's it's just I think I'm like
  • 01:00welcoming my patience into my home
  • 01:02life center in a different way and.
  • 01:05So that's you know.
  • 01:06I think the biggest change,
  • 01:08um, I miss my teammates,
  • 01:10you know, because I think we're.
  • 01:11You know it's that physical connection
  • 01:13of being next to somebody and
  • 01:15having your lunch with somebody.
  • 01:17And then you know it's you know that's
  • 01:19that's hard to replace, but uhm.
  • 01:22But I think we're making the
  • 01:24best of the situation.
  • 01:27Yeah,
  • 01:27for doing things remotely in in.
  • 01:30Personally there is a sense of
  • 01:32intimacy when you're in your house
  • 01:35and your kids are absolutely made
  • 01:38on the background or absolutely,
  • 01:40absolutely to me right now too. Yeah,
  • 01:43so it's, uh, yeah, it's it's.
  • 01:45It's usually my dog and another
  • 01:47patients and their dogs start
  • 01:48barking and it's funny you know.
  • 01:50I mean, it's it's, um,
  • 01:51you know we end up making the best of it so,
  • 01:54but yes, it it's it's, uh.
  • 01:57It some. It's really neat.
  • 02:02It's actually, you know,
  • 02:03take how taking how technology
  • 02:06kind of it in some ways says,
  • 02:08you know, change the patient doctor
  • 02:11experience is pretty cool. So
  • 02:13what sorts of things are you passionate
  • 02:15about in your career, Kelsey.
  • 02:18Yeah, I'm I'm I'm I'm really passionate
  • 02:22about just how we are learning
  • 02:25so much in oncology about uhm.
  • 02:28You know, really scientific molecular aspects
  • 02:30and how do we translate that into this?
  • 02:33Talking to our patients and
  • 02:35translate that to their care.
  • 02:36I think it's a challenge that
  • 02:39I find interesting. Um, I'm.
  • 02:40I just happened to be interested in the
  • 02:43way obesity and nutrition impacts, uhm?
  • 02:46You know cancer and cancer care.
  • 02:49And I'm also really into Women's
  • 02:52Health and women's issues, and, uhm,
  • 02:54you know what aspects of that are
  • 02:57you know involved in patient care?
  • 03:00And also one of the things I
  • 03:02actually really like about my office.
  • 03:05You know,
  • 03:06we're pretty
  • 03:06much all women in our office
  • 03:09and. Love that. It's just
  • 03:11that ability to work with.
  • 03:14Like really strong strong
  • 03:15women is important to me. Is
  • 03:18there something that you wish that your
  • 03:20patience knew about you, that they might not
  • 03:22know just by looking at your bio on the
  • 03:25website? Yeah, I I can you know uhm,
  • 03:28it's a great question. I wish uhm.
  • 03:33I wish my patience knew that you know.
  • 03:38I mean, I think we all really care
  • 03:40about what we do, and I think, uhm.
  • 03:42You know there's there's so much time
  • 03:45I I spend thinking about my patience.
  • 03:47You know when after the door has closed,
  • 03:49you know where the computer
  • 03:51screen is shutdown of, you know,
  • 03:53did we talk about everything?
  • 03:54Did we you know?
  • 03:55Is there anything that we
  • 03:57didn't get to or you know?
  • 03:59Gosh, they seem like maybe they had
  • 04:01another question and I guess you know,
  • 04:03I'm sure all doctors feel like this,
  • 04:05but I think it's so important
  • 04:07for our patients to know that.
  • 04:08I think we're our minds are constantly
  • 04:11constantly thinking about them,
  • 04:12even when we're not with them and.
  • 04:14I just I think I'd love for my
  • 04:16patients to know that that's
  • 04:18that's that's how I feel.
  • 04:20Well, if I
  • 04:21were your patient, I would feel really
  • 04:24safe to know that you're thinking about
  • 04:27me when we're not together.
  • 04:29Thanks for sharing that, yeah.
  • 04:32No, otherwise I mean I love
  • 04:33what I love, what I do.
  • 04:35It's obviously things sometimes are.
  • 04:37Stressful and moments can be
  • 04:39sad and there's a lot of,
  • 04:40but there's a lot of really
  • 04:42happy moments and what we do and.
  • 04:44An everyday everyday is different.
  • 04:47Every patient is different and never boring,
  • 04:50but it's always exciting
  • 04:52and always interesting and.
  • 04:55We're always learning too.
  • 04:56I think that's one of the best
  • 04:58things about what we do is.
  • 05:00It's like constant constant learning
  • 05:02from each other and reading and and.
  • 05:05It's never stale.
  • 05:07Is never a dull moment. That's what
  • 05:10I said. Silly, not absolutely
  • 05:12not. Well, thank you
  • 05:13so much for
  • 05:14taking the time to
  • 05:15do this with me today.
  • 05:16Kelsey, I know your patience.
  • 05:18Will really appreciate getting
  • 05:19to know you and and I look
  • 05:21forward to working with you more.
