Security

Yale Police Officers and Yale Security Officers: Officers patrol the medical campus 24 hours a day.

Blue Security Phones: These phones, which are strategically located across the campus, have a red emergency button for direct connection to the university police and a keypad for dialing any campus number. They are easily identified at night by the blue light that hang above them.

Walking Escort Service: You may request a security escort to walk you to any point on campus, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. To request, call 432-WALK (203-432-9255).

Free Shuttle Service: Yale operates a free shuttle service, which runs throughout the campus area and to many local neighborhoods. The daytime shuttle runs from 7:20am to 6:00pm, Monday through Friday. Security dispatch minibuses provide door-to-door service between University buildings and people's homes, seven days a week from 6:00pm to 7:30am. Call 203-432-6330 to arrange for a security dispatch minibus ride.

LiveSafe App: LiveSafe is an app that enables students, staff, and faculty on campus to communicate with Yale Police with a mobile device, for example, providing the Yale Police with accurate information about yourself and your GPS location, when you use the Emergency Options or Report Tips buttons within the app.

Bulldog Mobile Contact List: Upon request, Yale will text you a list of important campus safety numbers which is easily downloaded into Contacts on a mobile phone.
