Student Mental Health & Wellness Program

The Student Mental Health & Wellness Program welcomes Kathlene Tracy, PhD. Dr. Tracy joins our program as the new part-time Psychologist! She brings over three decades of experience working and leading services within the mental health field and is excited to apply these skills to assist students. Additionally, we have made some new changes to our program. Please see the updated FAQs for more information.

About the Program

The pilot Student Mental Health & Wellness Program is an initial but important step in the effort to better support the mental health of students across our MD, MD-PhD, Physician Assistant Online, and Physician Associate programs.

The program provides short-term mental health consultation and intervention to address mild-to-moderate severity symptoms (e.g., depressed mood or anxiety) or acute adjustment issues (e.g., role stress, grief, relationship changes). These sessions can be virtual or in-person.

If longer-term mental health concerns and need for treatment is identified, we will facilitate the transition to Yale Health Mental Health & Counseling or Magellan through Mental Health & Counseling, and our staff will support you in getting connected to those ongoing services.

In addition to the mental health services provided by our social worker and psychologist, our wellness counselor will work with students to address needs related to time and stress management, well-being, and self-care. Our staff also will facilitate groups and wellness seminars around topics of interest to YSM students.

Please reach out if we can be of help!
