Caldwell, Flores Honored by AAAP, NIDA

Ebony Caldwell, MD MPH, an addiction psychiatry fellow at Yale School of Medicine, has been named a recipient of the American Academy of Addiction Psychiatry (AAAP)/National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) Mentor Facilitated Training Award in Substance Use Disorders Science Dissemination Solicitation.

Also honored is Jose Flores, MD, PhD, an Addiction Psychiatry Fellowship program graduate from Yale School of Medicine and the Yale Psychiatry Residency Program.

The award promotes and improves knowledge of evidence-based substance use disorders treatment among health care providers and promotes the adoption of evidence-based approaches in medical settings. It also encourages the dissemination of substance use disorder research findings and facilitates the professional growth and development of future clinician leaders in substance use disorder management.

The award provides up to one year of support for disseminating research.

Award recipients work with mentors to learn about critical areas of substance use disorders and treatment strategies through their research. They can also attend conferences and workshops and interact with leading experts in the field.
