Jackson Higginbottom, MPH

Biography

Jackson Higginbottom, MPH, is a program administrator at the Yale School of Public Health. His work focuses on community health engagement research, program evaluation, and health communications at the Community Alliance for Research and Engagement (CARE) and Yale-Griffin Prevention Research Center. His primary research interests include: (1) investigating the social determinants of mental and physical health among sexual, ethnic and racial minorities; and (2) developing and evaluating evidence-based interventions to address health needs of under-resourced communities. Prior to his work at Yale, Jackson was heavily involved with free medical clinics in Oklahoma City.

Fundación Manos Juntas: OKC Community Free ClinicEstablished in 1995, Fundación Manos Juntas provides free medical care to those in need in the Oklahoma City community regardless of race, income, gender, age or religion. Services provided include provider evaluation, prescription medications, laboratory tests, health education and specialist referrals. In 2022, Manos Juntas provided care to over 4,000 people living in Oklahoma. In January 2023, Jackson was elected to serve as President of the Board of Directors.2023 - Present
