Study Overview
Project EMPATHS (Evaluating Mechanisms of Psychotherapy Approaches To Help SGM Adults) is aimed at understanding LGBTQ-affirmative psychotherapy approaches for LGBTQ+ adults who wish their relationships with their parents was better. Participants in this study will receive 16 sessions of LGBTQ-affirmative therapy. They will also have the opportunity to earn up to $40 for completing surveys and interviews that share their experiences and insights about the therapy they receive.

Eligibility Criteria
- LGBTQ+ adults
- Ages 20 and up
- Living in NY, CT, or PA
- Out to at least one parent
- Feeling unaccepted by at least one of their parents
- Does not regularly see a therapist
- Experiences depression and/or anxiety
