A central goal of the Office of Diversity, Inclusion and Community Engagement (DICE) is to foster a Yale community that embraces diversity and respects all voices. DICE will work closely with the Dean’s Advisory Council on LGBTQI+ Affairs and other campus constituents to develop programs that advance the understanding of health care disparities among LGBTQI+ communities, including the historical context that led to these inequities. At the same time, DICE is committed to working on developing policies and programs designed to ensure that LBGTQI+ students, staff and faculty are empowered to realize their full potential at Yale.
Growing up gay in America, I experienced marginalization and Isolation firsthand. As the Deputy Dean of Diversity and Inclusion, I hope to be a role model who helps the next generation of LGBTQI+ youth imagine bright possibilities for themselves.
