Mougalian appointed Deputy Chief Ambulatory Officer at Smilow Cancer Hospital

Sarah Mougalian, M.D., assistant professor of Medicine (Medical Oncology) has been named the inaugural Deputy Chief Ambulatory Officer at Smilow Cancer Hospital (SCH) at Yale New Haven Hospital.

In this new role, Mougalian will provide leadership and contribute to the optimal management of clinic and infusion center operations within SCH. Working with the Chief Ambulatory Officer and nursing and administrative leadership, Mougalian will oversee outpatient operations with the aim of improving operational efficiency, space utilization, patient access, and quality of patient care, while ensuring clinician and staff input and engagement. In addition, Mougalian will provide medical leadership for the Smilow Cancer Hospital Oncology Extended Care Clinic.

“Throughout her tenure at SCH and Yale Cancer Center, Dr. Mougalian has been an exemplary clinician, clinical investigator, and medical educator, who is committed to optimizing cancer care delivery,” said Charles Fuchs, M.D., M.P.H., director of YCC and physician-in-chief at SCH. “We look forward to Dr. Mougalian's efforts to advance innovation in our ambulatory services across the hospital.”

Mougalian will start her new position immediately.
