Our Focus

The investigative interests of our laboratory include human neuroimmunology and autoimmunity. The aim of our research is to further elucidate the role that the immune system plays in neurological autoimmune diseases. To this end, we are engaged in understanding:

  • How particular B cell subsets initiate and sustain autoimmunity
  • Autoantibody production
  • The mechanisms of autoimmunity driven by immunoglobulins
We also aim to improve therapeutic approaches through defining fundamental disease mechanisms. Areas of special interest include myasthenia gravis, neuromyelitis optica, multiple sclerosis, and chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy.
