The Lustgarten Foundation announced today that a 2022 Innovation and Collaboration Program grant will be awarded to Mandar Muzumdar, MD, Co-Director of Pancreas Program, Center for Gastrointestinal Cancers at Smilow Cancer Hospital and Yale Cancer Center for his study "Dietary oleic acid reprograms pancreatic lipid metabolism to drive cancer development."

We are excited to welcome Dhruvi Shah as a postgraduate associate jointly working in our lab and the Joshi Lab in Immunobiology! Dhruvi completed an integrated Msc. in Cell and Molecular Biology at the Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda in Vadodara, India, studying energy pathways in macrophage polarization. In the lab, she will be using organoid models to study how obesity shapes anti-tumor immunity in pancreatic cancer.

We are excited to welcome Rylee McDonnell as a postgraduate associate in the lab! Rylee completed her B.A. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at Goucher College and was recently elected to the honor society of the American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (ASBMB). She will be studying metabolic and dietary drivers of cancer progression using genetically engineered models.
