Congratulations to Stephen Baldassarri, MD, and Paul Joudrey, MD, MPH, on becoming board certified in Addiction Medicine through the American Board of Preventive Medicine.

Choukri Ben Mamoun, MD, won “Most Valuable Pitch” out of 32 pitches, for his first-in-class antifungal agents at Yale LifeSciences #Pitchfest2019.

Debra Brandt, DO, and Kevin Kim, MD, won the Yale Cancer Center Awards for Excellence in Clinical Care at Yale Cancer Center Smilow Cancer Hospital’s annual Conclave.

Diane Bruessow, PA-C, MPAS, DFAAPA, was named Physician Assistant of the Year by the New York State Society of Physician Assistants in October 2019.

Barbara Burtness, MD, and Daniel Petrylak, MD, were each presented with the Yale Cancer Center Clinical Science Research Award at Yale Cancer Center Smilow Cancer Hospital’s annual Conclave.

Shi‐Ying Cai, DSc; Man Li, PhD; and James Boyer, MD, FACEP, co-authored the chapter, “The Role of Bile Acid‐Mediated Inflammation in Cholestatic Liver Injury,” in The Liver: Biology and Pathobiology, Sixth Edition.

Lieping Chen, MD, PhD, won the Yale Cancer Center Translational Research Prize at Yale Cancer Center Smilow Cancer Hospital’s annual Conclave.

Leo Cooney, Jr. MD, received the Living Legend Award from the Connecticut Coalition to Improve End of Life Care.

Jennifer Miller, PhD, presented “Non-Trial Access to Experimental Therapies” at the NYU School of Medicine Conference in January.

Max Petersen; Varman Samuel, MD, PhD; Kitt Falk Petersen, MD; and Gerald Shulman, MD, PhD, FACP, MACE, authored the chapter, “Non‐alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease and Insulin Resistance,” in The Liver: Biology and Pathobiology, Sixth Edition.

Sandra Springer, MD, served on the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine committee that created and released the recent report, “Opportunities to Improve Opioid Use Disorder and Infectious Disease Services: Integrating Responses to a Dual Epidemic.”

Mario Strazzabosco, MD, co-authored the chapter, “Introduction to the Physiology, Immunology and Pathology of the Liver and Biliary Tree,” in Autoimmune Liver Disease: Management and Clinical Practice. In addition, Strazzabosco, along with Massimiliano Cadamuro, and Romina Fiorotto, PhD, co-authored the chapter, “Cholangiocyte Biology and Pathobiology.”

Jose Gomez Villalobos, MD, MS, along with Blanca Himes, MD, edited the recently published, first Precision Medicine book in Pulmonary, Critical Care & Sleep Medicine, entitled, “Precision in Pulmonary, Critical Care & Sleep Medicine: A Clinical and Research Guide.”
