About

Biography

I am from India where I did my undergrad major in engineering physics with a minor in biotechnology. I am now a 4th year PhD student in Cell biology in the Colon-Ramos lab.
Our brain requires lots of energy to carry out its function and a disruption in the different energy producing processes in the brain can lead to diseases like Alzheimer's. I am interested in understanding the mechanism behind how our brain produces energy, particularly in different environmental conditions or stimuli. I am studying this in the brain cells of living animals( C. elegans) with the hope to understand the fundamentals behind this essential process in an appropriate context.
