Lieping Chen, PhD, wins prestigious 2017 Warren Alpert Prize
Lieping Chen, Ph.D., co-director of the Cancer Immunology Program at Yale Cancer Center and United Technologies Corporation Professor in Cancer Research and professor of immunobiology, of dermatology and of medicine at Yale School of Medicine, has been presented with the 2017 Warren Alpert Foundation Prize for transformative discoveries in the field of cancer immunology.

Lieping Chen, Ph.D., the United Technologies Corporation Professor in Cancer Research and professor of immunobiology, of dermatology, and of medicine, is one of five scientists to receive the 2017 Warren Alpert Foundation Prize.
Dr. Jacky Yeung Awarded NREF Tumor Research Fellowship
Dr. Jacky Yeung, a fourth-year neurosurgery resident, has been awarded the AANS/CNS Section on Tumors Research Fellowship Grant from the Neurosurgery Research and Education Foundation (NREF) for a project entitled, “Immunogenetic profiling and targeting novel immune check point regulators in meningiomas.” Dr. Yeung will conduct his research under the mentorship of Dr. Lieping Chen, United Technologies Corporation Professor in Cancer Research and Professor of Immunobiology, and Dr. Murat Gunel, Nixdorff-German Professor and Chair of Department of Neurosurgery.

Winners of the 2014 William B. Coley Award for Distinguished Research in Tumor Immunology discuss their contributions to the discovery of the PD-1 immune checkpoint and its role in cancer immunotherapy. 2020 Lustman Resident Research Awards announced

Calhoun, Roxas Receive Award from Yale Psychiatry's Bertram H. Roberts Memorial Fund to Complete Global Mental Health Research
Amanda J. Calhoun, MD, MPH, resident in the Albert J. Solnit Integrated Adult/Child Psychiatry program, and second-year resident Nichole Roxas, MD, MPH, recently received an award from the Department of Psychiatry's Bertram H. Roberts Memorial Fund to complete research related to global mental health and social psychiatry.
Ni Feng receives a 2020 Warren Alpert Distinguished Scholar Award
Ni Fend, a postdoctoral researcher in Elena Gracheva's lab, has become a 2020 Warren Alpert Distinguished Scholar. Her project "Hanging in the Balance: Fluid Homeostasis in Hibernation" aims to reveal fundamental knowledge about how hibernation enables some species to survive over an entire winter without water. This project will use the thirteen-lined ground squirrel as a model system to dissect and manipulate the neural circuits that regulate fluid balance across torpor and arousal states during hibernation.
Eric Brandt selected for ACC young investigator award
Eric J. Brandt MD, a postdoctoral fellow at Yale Cardiovascular Medicine, was selected as a finalist for the American College of Cardiology (ACC) Young Investigator Award. He will present his research at the annual Scientific Session March 29.
