New Leadership Roles Announced at Connecticut Mental Health Center

Several Department of Psychiatry members stepped into new roles at the Connecticut Mental Health Center (CMHC) earlier this month.

Andrea Mendiola, MD, and Caroline Dumont, MD, joined the attending staff at the CMHC. Mendiola and Dumont also joined the Departmental faculty, as an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and Instructor of Clinical Psychiatry, respectively.

Aniyizhai Annamalai, MBBS, MD, is now CMHC’s Deputy Medical Director for Medical Services. John Cahill, MD, PhD, was named Deputy Medical Director for Clinical Informatics.

Stan Mathis, Assistant Professor of Psychiatry, became Medical Director for the Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) team. Mathis, with Dale Sebastian, MBBS, Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychiatry, will serve as Associate Program Directors of the Public Psychiatry Fellowship.

Sarah Fineberg, MD, PhD, received a K award from the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) for her research program. Fineberg will remain involved with clinical and training programs.
