Dr. Jennifer Moliterno being interviewed by Fox News after performing another awake craniotomy in a patient with a brain tumor. The 31 year old, father of two, presented after having a seizure, a common sign of a brain tumor. Indeed his tumor was located in an “eloquent” part of his brain, embedded within critical language structures. She was able to remove more than 95% of the tumor, leaving the small amount of tumor in an area she found necessary for him to speak while keeping him awake during surgery. The patient amazingly sang during surgery and all is well after the two hour operation! Truly making inoperable brain tumors operable, removing as much tumor as safely possible while preserving critical brain function. All a part of the Yale Department of Neurosurgery. Always available to help patients with brain tumors, we can be reached at 203-785-2791 for any consultations.
