Dr. Miller has led the core cardiology Fellowship program since 2015 where he has overseen the tremendous growth of the section’s educational mission. The section currently has over 50 trainees in 10 training programs, making it the largest sub-specialty training program at Yale New Haven Hospital. During his tenure, Dr. Miller has led improvements in the fellowship’s educational framework including redesign of trainee inpatient cardiology services, implementation of novel educational programs, development of fellow academic and clinical leadership pathways, expansion and support of our physician-scientist training, and recruitment of extraordinarily high quality and diverse cardiology fellowship classes. He currently serves as president of the Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging’s Cardiovascular Council.
In his new role, Dr. Miller will oversee the complex educational mission of the section, including the coordination of faculty and trainees involved in that mission. This will include executive leadership and coordination of educational initiatives across the spectrum of activities related to undergraduate medical education, graduate medical education at both residency and fellowship (core and subspecialty) levels, and faculty professional development such as continuing medical education across our section and the Yale New Haven Hospital Heart and Vascular Center.
Dr. Miller will continue in his current role as core fellowship program director, working to recruit additional faculty program leaders and administrative support to complement the existing fellowship leadership team and section educational office.
