Child Study Center: Predoctoral Internship and Postdoctoral Fellowship in Psychology
Dr. Singh is a Licensed Child Psychologist and Coordinator of Training at Yale University’s Outpatient Clinical Services/In-Home Clinical Programs within the School of Medicine. She is a core faculty member within the Psychology Section at Yale Child Study Center. She provides clinical training to Fellows in psychology, psychiatry and social work tracks. Dr. Singh is a part of the Intensive In-Home Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Services (IICAPS) Team which includes the IICAPS model developers and senior clinical and research faculty. She leads training for the model and provides clinical consultation to a number of IICAPS sites throughout the state.
Dr. Singh obtained her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Northeastern University’s Combined School and Counseling Psychology program. She completed her pre-doctoral fellowship training at Harvard Medical School/Department of Medical Affairs with a clinical focus on trauma related disorders. She additionally completed her post-doctoral training at the Yale University/Child Study Center/School of Medicine. She has been in the mental health field for over 20 years and has extensive clinical, teaching and supervisory experience.
Her current research interests include understanding clinical engagement challenges of the underserved and multi-risk populations. Dr. Singh focuses her teaching on building cultural competence in preparing clinicians and clinical supervisors in identifying cultural issues related to working with diverse populations. She co-developed and teaches a Family Therapy and Cultural Diversity course for both Psychiatry and Psychology fellows at the Yale Child Study Center.
Dr. Singh has comprehensive experience in diagnostic evaluations, assessment, treatment, parent education, supervision and multicultural training with an emphasis on a developmental framework in the application of treatment.
