Thank you for your commitment to excellence at YSM
After almost 16 years as your dean, I want to send one last 333 Cedar Street message to thank all of you who have worked with me to accomplish so much. When I arrived in June 2004, YSM faced many challenges, but there was an extraordinary amount of talent and a deep-rooted commitment to excellence at every level. Much has changed over the years, but what hasn’t changed is that YSM is still a great place to teach, learn, perform research, and care for others. Our focus has been to impact the world through our excellence in every domain of the biomedical sciences and we have achieved that. We have had much to celebrate and much to be proud of. Challenges remain as we continually strive to be better, but the school’s future is bright and we have much to look forward to.
For that, I thank all of you. Our students, faculty, staff, and alumni are what makes YSM such an extraordinary place. It has been a pleasure to participate in the growth of our school, to see our missions fulfilled, and to share your passion and commitment to excellence.
I will now return to a more academic and less administrative existence as a member of the faculty in Nephrology and Physiology. I look forward to continuing to work with all of you, to supporting Dean Brown as she continues our tradition of excellence, and to remaining a member of this exceptional community.
