Overview

Yale Traditional Internal Medicine house staff come from diverse backgrounds from all over the country and around the world. The world-class quality of our house staff is a primary strength of the training program. Some may have come from your institution.

If you are interested in contacting any of our house staff you'll find their email addresses below and the medical school they attended. You may find that one of our house staff graduated from your medical school. All of our house staff are always willing to communicate about our training program with potential applicants. Intern Orientation: June 11-20, 2023

The Yale Department of Internal Medicine-Education new Intern Orientation for the Yale Internal Medicine-Traditional Residency Program begins on Sunday, June 11, 2023. More details will come about what sessions will be virtual and in person.

  • Participation by all new interns in daily Intern Orientation Activities from June 11 through June 20 is mandatory.
  • Each new intern will receive their Intern Orientation Schedule from Brett Marks a day or so before June 11.
  • Please contact Brett Marks, the Yale Internal Medicine-Traditional Residency Program Coordinator, with any concerns or questions about Intern Orientation.
  • Office: Due to the pandemic, email is the best mode of communication at this time.

Clinical block rotations for new AY2023-2024 interns begin Wednesday, June 21, 2023 with pre-rounds in the morning .

Vacation

Four weeks, at the discretion of the department and its needs.

Graduates of the Yale Internal Medicine Traditional Residency Program pursue a wide range of professional opportunities ranging from clinical practice to academic medicine, policy and industry. Approximately eighty to ninety percent of our residents match for fellowship and of those approximately 50% match for fellowship at Yale. At Yale we offer uniformly superb, highly competitive fellowship with NIH-funded training grants in all subspecialties.
