Addiction Medicine Rounds: "Getting Wrecked: Women, Incarceration, and the American Opioid Crisis"

The Yale Program in Addiction Medicine is pleased to welcome Dr. Kimberly Sue as speaker for December Addiction Medicine Rounds.

Topic: “Getting Wrecked: Women, Incarceration, and the American Opioid Crisis”

Learning Objectives:

  1. Define principles of structural violence/structural vulnerability as related to working with socially marginalized populations, such as women with histories of substance use or people with histories of incarceration.
  2. Describe history and social forces leading to increased rates of incarceration of women in the United States.
  3. Apply strategies grounded in philosophy and practice of harm reduction for people who use drugs and/or with histories of incarceration.

Addiction Medicine Rounds are CME accredited. Each session will be assigned 1 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM.
