The Yale Program in Addiction Medicine is pleased to welcome Dr. Kimberly Sue as speaker for December Addiction Medicine Rounds.
Topic: “Getting Wrecked: Women, Incarceration, and the American Opioid Crisis”
Learning Objectives:
- Define principles of structural violence/structural vulnerability as related to working with socially marginalized populations, such as women with histories of substance use or people with histories of incarceration.
- Describe history and social forces leading to increased rates of incarceration of women in the United States.
- Apply strategies grounded in philosophy and practice of harm reduction for people who use drugs and/or with histories of incarceration.
Addiction Medicine Rounds are CME accredited. Each session will be assigned 1 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM.
