Yiduo I Hu, PhD, MD

Dr Hu graduated with a PhD in Genetics from Case Western Reserve University, and an MD from the College of Physicians and Surgeons, Columbia University. He completed a research fellowship in the Livingston Lab at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Harvard Medical School. He is currently a clinical fellow in Hematology and Oncology at Yale New Haven Hospital and Yale School of Medicine.

Dr Hu's long-standing research interest is to understand the mechanisms of DNA recombination and genome integrity control. He has been using genetically engineered animal models, human cancer cell lines, and samples from patients to study fundamental questions in this field. He aims to translate his findings to new therapeutic targets, and to identify novel biomarkers that predict patients' responses to treatment or the development of drug resistance.

Dr Hu's clinical interests include taking care of patients with breast, pancreatic, gastric, and colorectal cancers, as well as those affected by cancer genetic syndromes. He also participates in clinical research involving several early phase clinical trials.
