The unique attributes of the fellowship program of the Section of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine (Yale-PCCSM) are highlighted by current and former fellows of Yale-PCCSM in a new video just released and produced by Yale School of Medicine’s (YSM) Office of Communications. To hear it in their own voices, watch the new video.

“One of the most unique elements of our fellowship program is the flexibility,” said Fellowship Program Director, Shyoko Honiden, MD, MS. “We try to build into the system something that is unique for each individual.”

The fellowship program at Yale-PCCSM continues to grow; In the 2019-2020 academic year the section has 26 fellows. This includes 17 traditional pulmonary and critical care fellows, four critical care medicine fellows, four sleep medicine fellows, and an interventional pulmonary fellow, creating a vibrant multidisciplinary training environment. “The thing that makes Yale special to me is that they really care about each of the trainees as an individual person and not just a cog in the machinery of the system,” added Amy Korwin, second year fellow. “We are part of a family together here.”

The Section of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine is one of the eleven academic sections within YSM’s Department of Internal Medicine. To learn more about Yale-PCCSM, watch the video, visit PCCSM’s website, or follow them on Facebook and Twitter.
