Biography

Katherine O'Hare earned her Master of Social Work and BS in Public Health from The University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Before joining CORE, she worked as in the Department of Family Medicine Research for Atrium Health in Charlotte, North Carolina. Katherine's most recent work includes leading two large trials to evaluate the implementation of a pediatric health IT solution in primary and acute care settings: (1) a $3.5 million NIH-funded R01 grant, Primary Care Implementation and Evaluation of Coach McLungs, an asthma shared decision-making intervention, and (2) a $500,000 PCORI funded study, Evaluation of a Shared Decision-Making Intervention for Asthma Patients in the Emergency Department. Katherine has experience in tool development using the Consolidated Framework for Implementation Research to evaluate implementation and map identified barriers to Expert Recommendations for Implementing Change strategies. Katherine’s professional goals are to continue strengthening epidemiological sciences with culturally appropriate variables that translate into more comprehensive health services for underserved populations.
