Biography

Claire obtained her combined MD/MBA at Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston in conjunction with Brandeis University. Before medical school, she researched biomedical devices (a continuous blood glucose monitor and a long-acting reversible contraceptive) as a member of the School of Pharmacy at UConn. At Tufts, Claire was a co-leader of the Tufts Obstetrics Students and their Patients, a group that matches medical students with socially complex pregnant women who would benefit from support during their pregnancy. She completed a consulting project analyzing the value of Telehealth in a local Ophthalmology department.

Within the MD/MBA program, she was co-leader of the Journal Club, Student Ambassador and Student Representative on the Alumni Council. She was awarded the Academic Achievement Award, Norman Stearns Leadership Award, and Best Team Consulting Project Award. She also was the recipient of Honos Civicus and a member of Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society and Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society.

She is passionate about leveraging primary care to improve people's health. In particular, she is interested in preventive medicine, management of chronic disease, value-based care (including managing healthcare costs) and leadership culture. Outside of medicine, she enjoys running, baking, traveling and spending time with her horse.
