Dr. Sakr is an assistant professor of Medicine at the Yale Medical School. She earned her medical degree from Saint Joseph Universiry in Beirut Lebanon and her public health degree from Yale. She completed her Internal Medicine Residency at Cooper Hospital, University Medical Center in Camden, NJ and her Occupational and Environmental Medicine Fellowship at Yale. She conducted Occupational Epidemiology Research with the DuPont company and then directed the Employee Health services at Christiana Care in Delaware before she joined the Yale faculty in 2012.
Currently, Dr Sakr is the chief of Occupational Health Services at VA CT, overseeing the Employee Health Unit as well as Compensation and Pension section. She is also the program director for the Occupational and Environental Medicine fellowship training at Yale.
She is interested in the occupational health and safety of healthcare workers and is working on many initiatives to improve employee health and safety at the VA regionally. She is also interested in the evaluation of common health conditions including lower back pain among Veterans.
