Biography
Originally from Egypt, Abdelrahman earned his medical degree from Ain Shams University (Summa Cum Laude with Honors). During undergraduate study, he developed a strong interest in academic medicine and evidence-based practice. After graduation, he continued his research training in the PERFUSE study group at Harvard Medical School/BIDMC. He then joined the Structural Heart Disease research team at the Cleveland Clinic, where he worked on assessing the outcomes of novel structural interventions, such as transcatheter aortic and tricuspid repair and replacement procedures. His research won several awards, was cited in many national and international guidelines, and was featured in major news outlets, such as Reuters Health, Scientific American, and Health Policy Watch. Now, Abdelrahman is an Internal Medicine Resident at Yale-New Haven Hospital and is pursuing a career as a physician-scientist in Cardiovascular Medicine.
