Dr. Jayasuriya is a native of Sri Lanka, where she graduated from medical school. Subsequently she underwent postgraduate medical training with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in New Zealand.
She completed cardiology fellowship training at the University of Arizona, where she won many awards, including the prestigious Allen Ginn, Jr. MD, endowed award for excellence in patient care and the house staff educator of the year.
Dr. Jayasuriya served as faculty at the University of Arizona during which time she edited and published a textbook in echocardiography. Recognizing her dedication to teaching, the cardiovascular fellows awarded her the Sarver Heart Center teaching award in 2013.
She subsequently completed fellowship training in interventional cardiology and peripheral vascular interventions at Yale University. She was awarded the Beard fellowship during her year of peripheral vascular training. Dr. Jayasuriya currently serves as faculty at Yale University and cares for patients at the Yale New Haven Hospital, Greenwich Hospital and the Veterans Affairs Connecticut Health Care System.
