I am a cardiac electrophysiologist at the Yale School of Medicine. I perform complex ablations, implant devices and perform lead extractions. My main interest is lead management and extraction. This involves evaluating and treating patients with malfunctioning or infected implantable cardiac devices. I lecture nationally and internationally on this subject. I perform research in the field of lead management and have been involved in the development in an internationally used rescue balloon in the field of extraction.

3D imaging of the rescue balloon deployed in a porcine SVC

The balloon is a compliant balloon specifically designed to tamponade an SVC tear should it occur during extraction. The balloon was specifically designed to accommodate variations in human SVC size and anatomy.
