Physician Biography

Dr. Sankey is an Academic Hospitalist specializing in the inpatient care of adult patients, with ABIM certification in Internal Medicine with a Focused Practice in Hospital Medicine. He completed his internal medicine residency in 2005, his chief residency in internal medicine in 2006, and has been a Hospitalist from 2006 to the present -- all at Yale New Haven Hospital. He attends on general medical services as well as the medicine Step-Down Unit. Dr. Sankey plays an integral role in clinical care and medical education at Yale New Haven Hospital. He is an Associate Program Director for the Traditional Internal Medicine Residency Program, the Director of Inpatient Education for the Traditional residency program, and Director of the Clinician Educator Distinction Pathway. Dr. Sankey's research interests include clinical deterioration of patients in the inpatient setting, teaching via clinical vignettes, curricular design of clinical didactics, and design and implementation of hospital medicine elective rotations.
