Identification of Subclinical Acute Interstitial Nephritis
Acute interstitial nephritis (AIN) is a common condition characterized by minimal clinical features and slowly worsening kidney function. As a result, by the time AIN is diagnosed, permanent kidney damage has already occurred. Early recognition of AIN could prevent the occurrence of permanent kidney damage. To identify patients with AIN in a timely manner, we will set up screening algorithms in the electronic health record. We will then evaluate patients identified through this algorithm with novel biomarkers.
