Patient and Family Advisor Program Seeks Volunteers…We Need Your Voice!

February 17, 2020

Yale New Haven Hospital’s (YNHH) Patient and Family Centered Care (PFCC) Program involves a continual effort to be responsive to the needs and choices of patients and families by involving them in all aspects of the planning, delivery and evaluation of healthcare services. YNHH’s Patient and Family Advisor Programs involve current patients, former patients, or family members who are willing to volunteer and help the hospital become more patient-and family-focused.

There are many ways in which patients and family members are assisting YNHH. Some sit on hospital committees, others on focus groups or improvement projects, some share the story of their YNHH experience during staff education and new employee orientation, while others are members of one of the six Patient and Family Advisor Councils (Adult, Children’s Hospital, Smilow Cancer Hospital, Behavioral Health, Neuro Intensive Care Unit, and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit).

If you know of a patient or family member who might be a good candidate to become an advisor at YNHH, please contact Irma Dadic, coordinator of Patient and Family Engagement, at 203-688-7457 or ptfamcare@ynhh.org.
