Alison Valentino, senior operations manager for the Department of Internal Medicine has been promoted to be Assistant Director for Yale School of Medicine Accounting Compliance & Optimization.

During her time with the Department and among many of her accomplishments, Alison was instrumental in the execution and implementation of the new financial management and human resources system (Workday).

“Alison has always been willing to fill in any gaps and needs throughout the department,” said Mark Holter, vice chair, Finance & Administration. “For the past several months, she provided stability and leadership during the recruitment of the position I now occupy. I personally want to thank Alison for providing me with keen insight and knowledge in my first weeks here at Yale.”

The department is recruiting two senior level positions – one focused on budget and finance while the other will provide operational support. During this transition period, and throughout the recruitment process, Joe Velasco will cover the budget and finance responsibilities of the senior operations manager position. Coverage for the operational responsibilities of the position is being determined.

Please join us in thanking Alison for her many contributions to the Department of Internal Medicine and congratulations on her new opportunity.
