Research & Publications
After attending the University of Pennsylvania as an undergraduate majoring in Biomedical Engineering, Dipal attended the Northwestern Feinberg School of Medicine for her MD and PhD training. In her PhD research, she elucidated a novel mechanism by which mutations in the desmosomal protein desmoplakin could result in arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy. During this time, she also developed an interest in mentorship and co-founded a mentorship program working with inner-city youth in Chicago.
Dipal then came to Yale for residency in the Internal Medicine Residency program, through which she completed a Clinician Educator Distinction. Her exposure to nephrology cases and faculty led her to stay at Yale for a nephrology fellowship, where she developed an interest in focusing her career on care of the CKD and ESRD patient populations.
