The Section of Nephrology offers clinical and research fellowships:

  • The two-year clinical track program is for those interested in clinical medicine or as clinician educators.
  • The three-year (or more) research track program is designed for those who plan a career in either clinical, translational or basic science research.
  • For applicants less solidified in their career plans, we recommend applying to our clinical track. At the end of the first year, you may apply to be converted to the three-year research track if your career interests have changed.

Transplant Nephrology Fellowship

In addition, the Section of Nephrology, Section of Transplantation and Immunology, and Yale New Haven Transplantation Center offers an intensive year in advanced clinical training in transplant nephrology to applicants that have completed an ACGME certified fellowship in nephrology.

  • The fellowship offers a very thorough exposure to both inpatient and outpatient management of kidney and pancreas transplantation, both before and after transplantation.
