Pitch & Solve Night Nov 29: Addressing Connecticut's Opioid Crisis

November 12, 2017

Clinicians, public health professionals, and harm-reduction experts will discuss challenges currently faced due to the opioid epidemic in New Haven and Greater CT. Students and community members are invited to attend to listen and engage with medical and public health professionals as we collectively generate innovative solutions that directly address these issues. The call for this Pitch and Solve Night was catalyzed by challenges the New Haven Syringe Service Program (NHSSP) is experiencing. We look forward to tackling these and many other challenges over the course of the evening. At the event’s end, funding opportunities to support the best ideas will be presented.

Speakers will include Rick Altice, MD, professor of medicine and of epidemiology and public health and director of clinical and community research and community health care van; Lauretta Grau, PhD, clinical psychologist at the Yale School of Public Health; and Bachaar Arnaout, MD, assistant professor of psychiatry and director of the detoxification and addiction stabilization service.

The event will take place on Wednesday, November 29 at 5 p.m. at the New Haven Free Public Library (133 Elm St.), Program Room
