Yale Cancer Center Recognizes Excellence in Clinical Care at Annual Conclave Awards

Nikolai Podoltsev, MD, PhD, and Jennifer Moliterno, MD, FAANS, received awards for Excellence in Clinical Care during the annual Yale Cancer Center Conclave. The award ceremony held virtually on February 15 and hosted by Eric P. Winer, MD, Director of Yale Cancer Center and Physician-in-Chief of Smilow Cancer Hospital, celebrates faculty and provider accomplishments in 2021. The Clinical Care Award is given annually to Yale Cancer Center physicians who best exemplify excellence in clinical care, including superb clinical skills, use of a patient- and family-centered approach to care, and inclusion of a multidisciplinary care model.

Kevin Billingsley, MD, MBA, FACS, presented the awards to Podoltsev, an Associate Professor of Medicine (Hematology), and Moliterno, an Associate Professor of Neurosurgery and Clinical Director of the Chênevert Family Brain Tumor Center at Smilow Cancer Hospital and Yale Cancer Center.

Billingsley said, “Dr. Podoltsev is magnanimous, kind, and brilliant, and a true ‘triple threat’ in medicine, who has published a significant number of articles in high impact journals, is a legendary educator with a depth of knowledge and willingness to share, and a clinician whose “real heart of his work lies with his dedication to his patients.”

Billingsley recognized Moliterno, “for her technical brilliance and dexterity and speed when operating, with a focus on optimal outcomes for her patients, while taking a holistic, thoughtful, and compassionate approach to patient care.” In addition, Billingsley thanked Moliterno “for her dedicated support of Smilow Cancer Hospital through patient advocacy and fundraising.”
