Global Health & Equity Distinction Pathway News Update for October 18, 2021

Following up from Monday’s webinar/noon conference, “Healthcare of Afghan Refugees,” please save the date for two additional webinars in the series, which will both be held from 12-1pm: Monday, November 15th (Adult & Child Refugee Mental Health, Legal Issues) and Monday, December 6th (Caring for Refugee Patients in the Hospital). Additionally, for those who are inclined to participate, the Yale Affinity Groups, Yale Library Staff Association, and TrestleTree are sponsoring a Donation Drive for IRIS, to benefit Afghan families who are currently and will soon be resettled in the New Haven area. As a reminder:

  • The Fogarty Global Health Equity Scholars (GHES) fellowship has officially opened their 2022-2023 application cycle. The 10-month research fellowship at one of 31 sites in 23 countries. Deadline November 1st
  • Applications are now being accepted for the inaugural Yogesh Khanal Pilot Project Award! This opportunity provides $2500 for a mentored clinical research or medical education project over 12 months (see attached). The deadline for applications is November 15th, 11:59pm; see attached application form. Please contact Sheela.Shenoi@yale.edu with questions.
  • Consortium of Universities for Global Health (CUGH) has announced that their 2022 Conference, "Healthy People, Healthy Planet, Social Justice" will now be an entirely virtual conference and will take place on March 28th-April 1st, 2022. Note that Yale is a member institution, and residents are considered “students” for the purposes of conference registration.
