Reminder to our graduating GHEDP residents: please be sure to log your requirements in MedHub by Friday, May 28th so that they can be officially counted. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

For those who will be continuing on in the GHEDP next year: please respond to let me know if you are interested in taking on the role of the GHEDP Resident Leader, to assist with program planning in the coming year. (And feel free to reach out to Sumitha, who has been doing a great job in the role this year, if you have questions!)

  • **TIME CHANGE** - Save the Date: Tuesday, May 11th @ 11am-noon EST/5-6pm CET: YIGH Global Health Conversation Series presents, “Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director-General of the World Health Organization. During this conversation, Dr. Tedros will discuss the importance of ensuring equity in tackling the pandemic; the value and role of WHO in the world; and the importance of re-engaging the United States in the global response.   • **DATE CHANGE** - Save the Date: Wednesday, May 19th @ 7-8pm: Please join the third and final session in this year’s GHEDP Global Health Ethics series: we will be welcoming Kaveh Khoshnood, PhD, MPH (Associate Professor of Epidemiology [Microbial Diseases], Yale School of Public Health; Program Co-Director, Global Health Ethics Program, Yale Institute for Global Health) to discuss ethical issues in global health research.   • Take a look at the attached NEJM Perspective piece, entitled – Scaling Up COVID-19 Vaccination in Africa – Lessons from the HIV Pandemic – which serves as an important reminder of the tremendous body of knowledge that already exists about community engagement for public health.
  • Read this attached thought-provoking Lancet article, entitled – The Climate Change-Homelessness Nexus – which shares thoughts about how to understand these interrelated problems at a systems level and think about cross-cutting interventions.
