Dr. Inzucchi received his undergraduate degree from Fordham University in the Bronx, NY and his M.D. degree from Harvard Medical School in Boston, MA. He completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine and his post-doctoral Fellowship in Endocrinology and Metabolism at Yale-New Haven Hospital, in New Haven, CT. Dr. Inzucchi has authored or co-authored over 250 manuscripts, monographs, textbook chapters, and abstracts, and has lectured at a national and international level on a wide variety of endocrine topics. Dr. Inzucchi has a large academic clinical practice involving a broad spectrum of patients with endocrine diseases.

His specific clinical interests include diabetes as well as pituitary/adrenal disorders. His current research involves studies on the link between type 2 diabetes, insulin resistance, and cardiovascular complications; management of hyperglycemia in the hospital; and diagnostic criteria for diabetes and related conditions.
