Yale Cardiovascular Medicine Grand Rounds: "Coronary Microvascular Disease: the Next Frontier in Ischemic Heart Disease"

Overview

There is growing awareness and interest in the role of the coronary microvasculature in ischemic heart disease. New imaging technologies have made us aware of the importance of understanding and studying the coronary microvasculature, yet there is limited understanding of the pathophysiology of coronary microvascular disease and no directed therapies.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Understand why Coronary Microvascular Disease (CMVD) is an important and prevalent clinical entity.
  2. Draw from existing genomic and developmental research to gain insight into CMVD.
  3. Understand how transcriptional coregulator Friend of GATA 2 (FOG2) may play a role in CMVD.
