Dr. Nassiri received his undergraduate degree at the University of California, Irvine (UCI) and attended medical school at the Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU). He completed his surgical internship at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and was subsequently selected as one of the first few individuals in the country into the then newly established integrated vascular & endovascular surgery residency program, graduating in 2013 from the New York Heart & Vascular Institute at Lenox Hill Hospital. He was then recruited to Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School as the first integrated-trained vascular surgeon in the state of New Jersey. There, in addition to practicing the entire gamut of vascular and endovascular operations, he was able to found, direct, and grow a number of collaborative, multidisciplinary programs including the reputable Vascular Anomalies & Malformations Program (VAMP). Dr. Nassiri joins Yale with broad clinical interests spanning the entire spectrum of operative, non-operative, diagnostic, and endovascular interventions for both atherosclerotic and non-atherosclerotic peripheral vascular pathologies. He has particular expertise in the endovascular repair of complex thoracic, abdominal, and thoracoabdominal aortic aneurysms; extracranial cerebrovascular pathologies; hybrid approaches to limb salvage and dialysis access; endovascular interventions for acute symptomatic pulmonary embolism and deep vein thrombosis; comprehensive management of congenital vascular anomalies including hemangiomas and vascular malformations; and cosmetic venous procedures.
