Biography

Dr. Murugiah is an Interventional Cardiologist who specializes in coronary interventions. He went to medical school at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, in New Delhi. He subsequently completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine - Jacobi Medical Center, followed by clinical fellowships in Cardiovascular Medicine, and Interventional Cardiology at Yale New Haven Hospital. He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Medicine, Echocardiography, and Interventional Cardiology.

Dr. Murugiah is also a physician scientist at Yale/YNHH Center for Outcomes Research and Evaluation (CORE) where he spent 2 years as a post-doctoral researcher prior to cardiology training. His research interests include comparative effectiveness of cardiovascular interventions, leveraging EHR and large datasets to develop learning prediction models, evaluating changes in health and health care delivery for cardiovascular patients in the US and globally, and novel methods of assessing population health and public health awareness.
