The 2019 Humanitarian Service Award is awarded in recognition of the volunteer work and commitment by an orthopaedic surgeon member. This award is to acknowledge the tireless efforts, outstanding commitment and sustained dedication in service to humanity.

This year’s honoree was Kristaps Keggi, MD. Dr. Keggi was nominated for his decades of work advancing the education in musculoskeletal medicine and surgery for healthcare providers through international exchange programs throughout the world.

In recognizing his volunteer efforts, COS Board member and award presenter, Dr. Gary Friedlaender applauded his fifty plus years of service as the founder, fundraiser and educator for the Keggi International Educational Foundation.
