Huntington and Parker receive new appointments at Smilow Cancer Hospital

Scott Huntington, M.D., M.P.H., assistant professor of Medicine (Hematology), has been named Medical Director for the Hematology Outpatient Program at Smilow Cancer Hospital and Terri Parker, M.D., assistant Professor of Medicine (Hematology), has been appointed the inaugural Assistant Medical Director for the Smilow Cancer Hospital Care Center in North Haven, which includes multiple myeloma and benign hematology care.

In his new role, Huntington will work closely with the leadership of Smilow Cancer Hospital and Hematology, and with the physician, nursing, research, and administrative staff to continue providing exceptional patient care and optimizing quality and operations throughout the Hematology program.

“During his time at the Yale Cancer Center, Dr. Huntington has been an innovator in health services research and care delivery, and we look forward to his leadership of our outpatient Hematology Services,” said Charles Fuchs, M.D., M.P.H., director of Yale Cancer Center and physician-in-chief at Smilow Cancer Hospital.

In her new position, Parker will partner with Jeremy Kortmansky, MD, Medical Director of the North Haven Care Center, to coordinate and oversee clinical operations in the center’s new Hematology Program. The new program provides treatment for patients with multiple myeloma and benign Hematology conditions, including participation in ongoing clinical and translational research.

“Over the past several years, Dr. Parker has been an exemplary leader of the Hematology Outpatient Program at Smilow Cancer Hospital and will be a great asset to our faculty and patients in North Haven,” said Fuchs.

Huntington and Parker will start their new positions immediately.
