Outpatient cardiology services, directed by Michael Remetz, MD, Associate Professor of Medicine, provide easily accessible and patient-friendly facilities located on the Yale campus (Yale Physicians Building) and in Branford and Guilford facilities. Each facility is staffed by the full-time Yale faculty and provides comprehensive non-invasive diagnostic testing.

Clinical Environment

The Yale University section of Cardiovascular Medicine runs a robust and vibrant outpatient practice. The facilities are located on the Southeastern Connecticut shoreline in the towns of Branford and Guilford. The practices are very busy and last year accounted for over 11,000 patient visits.

A wide variety of cardiovascular patients are seen including subspecialty visits for electrophysiology, left ventricular dysfunction, interventional, valvular heart disease, vascular medicine and general cardiology.

A number of Internal Medicine practices refer patients to these facilities. A broad array of state-of-the-art testing is offered on site including nuclear imaging, stress testing, echocardiography, peripheral vascular testing, ECG monitoring and computed tomographic imaging.

These offices generate a significant percentage of the invasive procedures performed at Yale-New Haven Hospital. Many of these clinics are staffed by fellows specializing in cardiovascular medicine who work one on one with faculty cardiologists.
