Dear Colleagues,

The Section of Rheumatology, Allergy, and Immunology continues to make an impact in Connecticut and across the globe. In this newsletter, we feature faculty involved in developing national ILD guidelines, insights from the ACR presidency, research on aging and immunity, and family nurse practitioner Jacinta Renaldi's Clinical Excellence Award, among many other highlights. We also get to know faculty member Mario Rodenas, MD, whose journey into allergy and immunology began with a chance encounter with his grandmother’s allergist.

Congratulations to team "Chronic Lyme," who won the ACR 2024 Knowledge Bowl. Read on to find out how they prepared and what strategies they used.

Please contact me if you have news to share. I hope you enjoy reading the stories that follow.

Sincerely,

Vaidehi Chowdhary, MBBS, MD
