In April, Dean Nancy J. Brown, MD, and Pamela M. Sutton-Wallace, MPH, president of Yale New Haven Health, announced that Wolfram Goessling, MD, PhD, has accepted the position of chair of the Department of Internal Medicine at Yale School of Medicine, chief of Internal Medicine at Yale New Haven Hospital, and physician-in-chief for Medicine across the Yale New Haven Health System.
Widely known for his leadership and contributions to science and medicine, Dr. Goessling will be a tremendous asset to the department. I look forward to serving as department chair until Dr. Goessling’s arrival and collaborating with him as he transitions to his new role on September 1, 2025. For more information on Dr. Goessling, please see our “Featured News” below.
As many of you know, our clinical practice has grown significantly during the past several years. At our May 12 faculty meeting, Lynn Tanoue, MD, MBA, gave a high-level overview of the department’s clinical enterprise and emphasized that the Clinical Affairs team is eager to support faculty, enhance program development, and help us work smarter. For more information, you can view a recording of the faculty meeting (NetID log-in required).
As we near the end of the academic year, I hope you'll join me in attending one of Dean Brown's "State of the School" presentations, which will be held via Zoom on June 9 and June 10.
With best wishes,
Gary
