Biography

Angela grew up in Maryland and attended the University of Maryland, College Park, for her undergraduate studies, where she majored in Psychology and Neurobiology & Physiology. While at UMCP, she had the opportunity to explore various research interests in the Departments of Neuroscience with Dr. Hey-Kyoung Lee, Social Psychology with Dr. Catalina Kopetz, and Bioengineering with Dr. John Fisher and the Gemstone Honors Program. After graduating in 2011, she received a Fulbright Scholarship to study risk-taking behavior with Dr. Tommy Pattij at the Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam. She matriculated into the Yale MD/PhD program in Fall 2012 and is currently completing her PhD through the Interdepartmental Neuroscience Program with Dr. Marina Picciotto. Her thesis work in Dr. Picciotto's lab has focused on investigating sex differences in nicotine addiction.
